Employment Data

The data in the file employ.dat contains data for each state in the US regarding the number of people in the labor force and the number of people unemployed for various months in 1997 and 1998. The variables are
  1. Name of the state
  2. Size of the labor force in April, 1997
  3. Size of the labor force in February, 1998
  4. Size of the labor force in March, 1998
  5. Projected size of the labor force in April, 1998
  6. Number of unemployed in April, 1997
  7. Number of unemployed in February, 1998
  8. Number of unemployed in March, 1998
  9. Projected number of unemployed in April, 1998

All figures are in thousands of people.
