SIMS and its predecessor, the Mills SMI, were six-week programs
offering fast-paced, highly stimulating
seminars for talented undergraduate women.
These programs were designed to motivate and prepare participants
to enter and successfully complete Ph.D. programs in the mathematical
sciences.
From 1991 to 1997 over 150 undergraduate women participated in these
programs.
We collect here information about SIMS and the Mills SMI.
In 1997 the MAA published a volume on the SIMS program
