• winipcfg: gives ethernet and IP addresses of computer
• Partitionmagic is good for partitioning a hard drive after Windows already installed; e.g., if you also want to install Linux for double-booting
• to generate a ps file in a windows app, print to a file rather than to the printer; if necessary, the resulting eps file can be converted to ps in ghostview on the PC
