The tex2word program for Windows does a nice job of this for those
of you like me who unfortunately have to interface with the Microsoft
Word world. In particular the main issue is converting the mathematical
notation. Here are the steps, roughly:
- Go to Chikrii website and download the trial version (30 days) of
tex2word or pay $30 for the software.
- Install the trial version of MathType by Design Science (converts
to a Lite version after 30 days). This extends the Word equation editor
and allows you to edit the converted equations in Word using the equation
editor. Note that I'm not sure if the Lite version allows editing.
I've also forgotten whether people who don't have MathType installed
have trouble seeing the equations, but I think this is not an issue.
- Take your latex file and get rid of extra stuff in the preamble.
- Convert by opening Microsoft Word and opening the latex file; it will
do the conversion automatically as it opens the file.
