I am an Assistant Professor at Brown University in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Before that I was an Assistant Professor at UC Merced. I did my postdoctoral training in the Center of Theoretical and Evolutionary Genomics in Rasmus Nielsen's lab at UC Berkeley . My Ph.D work in Population Genetics was supervised by Rick Durrett and Carlos Bustamante in the Center for Applied Mathematics, at Cornell University .

My current research interests involve detecting and characterizing natural selection in human populations, estimating human demographic histories and improving methods for the analysis of next generation sequencing data. For more details and a list of publications, please see my research section.
