High Tech Salaries
The data in the file salary.dat
consists of the results of a survey of computer professionals around
the country, broken up by five regions (Northeast, Midwest, Southeast,
Southwest and West Coast.) The data is organized by job title, with
each region/job title combination appearing as a single line in the
file. The region names appear on a line immediately before the data
for that region. Thus each job title is represented five times, one
for
each of the regions. The variables in the file are
- Job Title
- Median Value for the low end of the range of salaries for the job
in on of the five regions
- Overall Median Value for the job in one of the five regions
- Median Value for the high end of the range of salaries for the job
in one of the five regions.
All of the numeric variables have embedded commas; the fields are
separated from each other by colons (:).
