RDE Survey Update

This page relates to the paper A Survey of Max-type Recursive Distributional Equations (David Aldous and Antar Bandyopadhyay); Annals of Applied Probability 15 (2005) 1047-1110.

The primary purpose is to provide updates about the status of the dozen or so Open Problems in the survey. A secondary purpose is to mention and provide links to subsequent related work.

Open Problems

• 12. Christophe Leuridan tells us via email that the answer "Yes" can be proved by adapting methods from a paper of theirs.

Other updates

• 6.5 Theorem 55 asserted endogeny in the frozen percolation process. But the proof in preprint [16] is wrong and we now believe the result is wrong.
