Description:

This seminar course concerns the applications of statistics to problems in genetics and molecular biology. The course consists of two components.

(1) A one-hour weekly seminar given by researchers working at the interface between the statistical and biological sciences.

(2) A weekly discussion section during which the seminar topics are introduced and related papers are presented and discussed.

Topics will include, but are not limited to: genetic mapping; DNA microarray experiments; computational gene finding; sequence alignment; protein structure prediction.

Lecture notes and reading materials from PH240D.
