About me

I am a PhD student in Biostatistics at UC Berkeley. I received a BSPH in biostatistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2007, and worked as a statistical programmer and statistician on clinical trials at PPD, a contract research organization in North Carolina. While at PPD, I returned to UNC for a MS in biostatistics. After completing my master's degree in 2010, I came to UC Berkeley for a PhD in biostatistics.

My research interests are semiparametric models and causal inference and their applications to public health. I am working with Dr. Mark van der Laan on targetted maximum likelihood estimation. I am also a Graduate Student Instructor for statistics and biostatistics classes, and I work at Kaiser Permanente Division of Research
