I am an Assistant Professor at
UC Merced in the School of Natural Sciences.
Before that I was a postdoc in the Center of Theoretical and Evolutionary Genomics in Rasmus Nielsen's lab
at UC Berkeley . My
Ph.D work in Population Genetics was supervised by
Rick Durrett and
Carlos Bustamante in the
Center for Applied Mathematics, at
Cornell University .
My current research interests involve detecting and characterizing
natural selection in human populations, estimating human demographic histories and
improving methods for the analysis of next generation sequencing data.
