	Play with a histogram applet. Examine the effect of changing the number of bins. Use the applet to find the median and upper and lower quartiles.

	Play with a binomial applet. Try choosing n and p so that the probability histogram assumes different shapes. How can you make it symmetric? Skewed to the right? Skewed to the left? How can you choose n and p so that the normal curve doesn't fit well?

Check out a JAVA applet that lets you give the values of tickets in a box, draw from it many times, make histograms of the resulting sums or averages, and superimpose a normal curve. See if you can rig it up so that the normal curve doesn't fit well.
