Richard Liang

The competitive eating career of Richard Liang, once a rising star whose sheer desire to eat was compared to a young Kobayashi Takeru, came to a tragic halt during a contest at Fenton's Creamery. Facing a 1059-pound Kodiak bear in an ice cream-eating event, Liang taunted the animal by taking a bite out of its Banana Special before the contest began. Enraged, the bear mauled him. Inspirationally, Liang has bounced back to win the gold medal in Hot Dog-Eating at the Paralympics, defeating a three-legged lion.
