Berkeley Statistics People

Currently our department comprises 26 regular faculty, 8 emeriti, 10 staff, 60-odd graduate students, and about 80 undergrads. We welcome visiting scholars from all over the world, and generally host around 20-30 visiting faculty and post-docs through the year. We also encourage graduate students from other institutions to visit our department for an extended period of study and research.

Our faculty, many of whom are honorary degree holders, includes members of several honorary societies: the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the National Academy of Sciences, the Royal Society (UK), the Royal Society of Canada, the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences, and the Australian Academy of Sciences. Past distinguished members of the department include Lucien Le Cam, Joseph Hodges, Michel Loève, and Jerzy Neyman, our founder.
